KidSight Program:
The KidSight Program offers free vision screenings—not full eye exams—for children aged 6 months to 7
years, provided by the Lions Club. Since 80% of a child's learning depends on their vision, early detection
is crucial. The leading cause of preventable vision loss in the U.S. is amblyopia, and KidSight screenings
can help identify this, along with several other issues.
Scholarships:
Two scholarships are awarded annually to eligible high school seniors in Fuquay-Varina & Willow Spring.
The awards are in the amount of $1,500 each. Our goal is to raise enough funds to increase the
scholarship amount to $3,000 each.
Peace Poster Contest:
For more than thirty years, Lions clubs worldwide have invited children to participate in a special art
contests held in schools and youth organizations. By creating peace-themed posters, young people
everywhere can share their ideas of peace and inspire others through their creativity and artistic
expression.
Camp Dogwood:
Camp Dogwood stands as a cornerstone of our charitable initiatives, offering a vibrant retreat specially
designed for individuals with visual impairments. Run by the North Carolina Lions Club Foundation, this
flagship program welcomes adults from across the state who are blind or visually impaired, providing
them with a supportive and enriching environment. Our commitment extends beyond traditional
assistance, focusing on opportunities for personal growth, relaxation, and community connection.
